This vital quality assurance process subjects components to a controlled tensile or pressure load – higher than its expected working load, but below the yield point – to confirm that it performs as intended without permanent deformation or failure. By simulating demanding service conditions, proof-load testing helps to identify manufacturing defects, material inconsistencies, thread issues or heat-treatment anomalies before components reach the field.
